Folio 270: Rochford to St. Paul. Referring to f.232, he reviews the whole progress of negotiations over prisoners of war. The memorial from Châtelet was answered. That from Francès was answered by the sending of commissaries by the British East India company to Paris with the approval of Francès. France has never denied her obligation but has held the East India company's claim to be too high, without stating an amount. He encloses papers.
