Folio 256: St. Paul to Rochford. He has been assured that the arming of 19 ships at Brest is at an end. The orders on which this was based were sent by Sartine, who wanted a complete check on the situation as left behind by Boynes. Only the preparation of the smallfleet for exercises is continuing. Vergennes promised to issue orders to Le Brasseur and to do all he could to curb the French adventurers in Africa.
