Folio 232: St. Paul to Rochford. Vergennes said France would not discuss the East India claim further until answers had been received to 2 memorials about French grievances in India [see SP 78/278 f.153, 281 f.131, and 281 f.44]. Then Vergennes will appoint commissaries. St. Paul had said this was unnecessary as the claims had been fully discussed already and he was sure the memorials has been answered.
