Folio 168: Stormont to Rochford. The king of Sweden's appeal to the king of France for a subsidy in unlikely to succeed. France is said to be trying to persuade Austria to engage in a defensive alliance with Sweden. Turkey is said to have received a haughty reply from Austria to her protests at the occupation of part of Moldavia. The archduke Maximilian leaves Paris to-morrow.
