Stormont to Rochford. Vergennes has accepted as reasonable Britain's orders to intercept ships carrying prohibited goods to America [see f.41]. Russia is concerned at Prussian expansion in Poland and has asked Austria to join her in urging Prussia to abide by the limits of the first partition treaty. Austria said that, if Prussia persisted, she would extend her claims but not intervene with force.
