Folio 29: Stormont to Rochford. Nothing special to report. He praises Turgot's conscienciousness and ability but doubts if he will survive long enough to achieve any great plan. He thinks that the Assemblée Generale will accept the king's reply to the Parlement, expected to-morrow, and bide its time. Portugal continues to send reinforcements to America. He refers to Goltz, Mercy and Vergennes, also to the pregnancy of the comtesse d'Artois and to the birth of a prince to the queen of Naples.
