Folio 204: Stormont to Rochford. 6 ships are to be fitted out at Toulon for exercises. It would be difficult to appear to try to stop so small a force, which would not be a danger were it not for France's close co-operation with Spain and Spain's arming at Cartagena. He asks for instructions and also refers to `our unhappy American disputes'.
