Folio 62: Stormont to Rochford. Reports of arming at Rochefort and Brest, are groundless. Because of France's closeness with Spain vigilance is essential. Although Aranda does not like Aiguillon, they meet frequently. There is a move, backed by madame Louise, to ask the king to admit the dauphin to the Conseil. Aiguillon secretly opposes it as the dauphin is averse to him and `his great protectress'.
Date and place: 1774 Jan 26 Paris.
