Description

Folio 36: Stormont to Rochford. Monteynard's position is insecure. A kind of tottering fire screen called a Monteynard is on sale in shops. Reports Russian reverses at Silistra and Varna. Unconfirmed reports, welcomed in France, speak of the magnitude of the revolt in Kazan [middle Volga]. The Swedish ambassador is spreading alarmist reports about Prussian designs on Rügen and Stettin.
