Folio 108: St. Paul to Rochford. He has important intelligence, which reveals the duplicity and falsehood of Aiguillon. The king is totally averse to war. Aiguillon, in Council, has declared for an open war. Boynes proposed a plan to attack Britain in Bengal and was supported by Aiguillon. But this met strong opposition and is unlikely to be carried. So much for Aiguillon's professions of peace. St. Paul has seen part of a dispatch from Chandernagore to Boynes with details. The marquis de Chauvelin, a master of the wardrobe, has died.
