Folio 63: St. Paul to Rochford. The visit of Czernichew may signify a closer relationship between France and Russia, possibly leading to French mediation between Russia and Turkey. References to the brother of Czernichew, count Zachary, to the contacts of Czernichew in Paris with Repnin, Adam Chatorinsky and Hérouville and to Aiguillon's satisfaction at having secured the release from prison in Turkey of Repnin's brother through St. Priest. More about intrigues at court. Monteynard has been cleared of any connection with Dumouriez and he has insisted on the court-martial of Bellegarde and Montieu [f.27].
