Folio 165: Stormont to Rochford. Aiguillon said that the armament at Toulon, except for 2 frigates for the Archipelago and 3 ships of the line for Brest, is now not suspended but counter-manded and there is a cessation totale. There will be no arming anywhere unless some `unforeseen extraordinary event' should arise. He gave no reason to suppose that the arrival of a joint Russian and Danish fleet would be so considered.
Date and place: 1773 May 18 Paris.
