Folio 43: Stormont to Rochford. Further long account of Stormont's thinking and reasons for his style of approach. He refers to proceedings in the Conseil. Aiguillon informed him of the suspension of arming at Toulon, now that the Russians no longer threatened Sweden, and of movements of a few ships and the return of men called up. Stormont again justified his approach and firmness. In view of the new situation, he has not presented the memorial [SP 78/287 f.226].
