Folio 3: Memorial delivered by Guines. Britain having asked for free entry into France for Wedgwood pottery, France wishes to discuss reciprocal agreements for free entry of goods and to extend such concessions. French requests would be: 1, reduction of exorbitant duties on wine and brandy; 2, entry of wine, brandy and liqueurs to be permitted in bottles as well as casks; 3, abolition of the ban on salt, linens, cambric, lace and silk sitched in gold or silver and that these imports be permitted subject to duty related to the value of each object.
