Folio 79: St. Paul to Rochford. France is making no dispositions at the moment to get ready a fleet but she fears that, if Russia makes peace with Turkey, she will attack Sweden. France wishes to prolong the war, thus gaining time for Sweden. He believes France will not dare to send a fleet into the Baltic and can only help Sweden with money. Spain may do the same. Austria has warned France against disturbing the peace in the North. France has reportedly asked for a daughter of the house of Savoy to marry the comte d'Artois. There is said to be a camp of 12 or 15 thousand men near Dunkirk. The king of Sardinia died on February 19th.
