Folio 71: Memorial from Hérouville delivered by Guines [to Rochford]. The seigniory of Furnes and the owners of the lands of the Moere (Moeras-fenlands) have asked the court of Brussels to re-establish the old lock of the Moere in the port of Dunkirk. The memorialgives the history of the area and claims that its re-establishment will improve the health of the area, prevent the flooding of the fenlands and not contravene British interests.
