Folio 46: Rochford to St. Paul. If Aiguillon states that France will send a fleet into the Baltic, in the event of Russia attacking Sweden, he is to make it quite clear that Britain will send a fleet to help Russia. Rochford believes that the king's aversion to war combined with the state of France's finances and the British stand will result in France not helping Sweden by sending a fleet. If he hears that ships are arming, he is to make clear that Britain will do the same.
Date and place: 1773 Feb 12 St James'.
