Folio 303: Blaquiere to Rochford. He is reliably informed that France hopes to persuade Turkey to make concessions to Austria sufficient to persuade her to give up her gains in Poland so as to preserve the independence of that country and gain Austrian support in peace negotiations. Aiguillon wants to re-establish French influence in Europe, relying partly on improved relations with Spain. Prussian evacuation of all Polish Prussia is not confirmed. Refers to case of Mrs. Lara [see f.296].
