Folio 240: Blaquiere to Rochford. Merci said that the Turks could not stomach the [Russian] peace terms. No reason could halt the king of Prussia's ambitions. He treats Poland like a conquered country. Only a joint representation by England and Russia might persuade him not to take Danzig. The Prussians have taken the bishopric of Warnice [Encloses f.242]. Merci went on th compare the navy boards of Britain and France. He praised Sandwich and spoke of the absurdity of putting Boynes in charge.
