Folio 179: Rochford to Blaquiere. He is to tell Aiguillon that the king's desire to see Guines return was because he was so well thought of here and because he did not wish to receive Breteuil. Aiguillon must be the best judge of the person most likely to obtain the preservation of peace. His rejection of Spanish insinuations was correct. Britain has no wish to make acquisitions. Sandwich is merely maintaining the security Britain intends to keep. She has no quarrel with Spain.
