Folio 176: Harcourt to Rochford. The king is at Choisy. La Vrillière said France would reduce her armaments as soon as confirmation came from Spain. Monsieur Boynes, previously first president and intendant of Besançon, has become minister of marine. Harcourt reminded La Vrillière of the rights of British proprietors [of Canada paper] guaranteed by the convention. He asks leave to come to England at the beginning of June. The duc de Penthièvre is trying to reconcile the king and the princes of the blood. Encloses f.178. The comtesse de Provence is to arrive at Fontainebleau next month and the marriage will take place at Versailles on May 14th.
