Folio 64: Harcourt to Rochford. The princes of the blood met to discuss how to conduct themselves towards the new court substituted for the Parlement. The king summoned the duc d'Orléans to expostulate. Orléans informed the king of discontent and misery of the people. The peers and princes fear that the Chancellor may reduce them to the level of the rest of the nobility. The conduct of the provincial Parlements perplexes the Chancellor. The conte de Muy may become foreign minister but Du Barry continues support for Aiguillon. The prince royal of Sweden has arrived with his brother.
