Folio 198: Walpole to Weymouth. In addition to ships mentioned in f.196, there are 8 or 9 frigates at Brest. Reports from other sea port towns speak of a large number of bakers being enrolled. All hands are called to assist with naval preparations. An embargo has been put on merchant ships at Bordeaux and Nantes.
Date and place: 1770 Oct 30 Fontainebleau.
