Folio 210: Harcourt to Weymouth. Choiseul seems satisfied that the dispute about the lowering of ships' pennants is settled. He rejected the proposal that Monson should call at Mauritius. The controller received Chamier and gave the impression of an early reasonable settlement of the payment due for prisoners in India but mentioned French claims for recently reported damage in India. Rybot's case is hopeless. The princes of the blood have given offence to the nobility by not inviting them to the wedding ceremony of the duc de Bourbon. They were invited to the dinner on the assumption that they would be present at the wedding. They resented such an invitation and stayed away, so that the princes and their entourage sat down 71 to a dinner prepared for 300.
