Folio 202: Harcourt to Weymouth. Choiseul promised to order the settling of the money due to the British East India Company for the maintenance of prisoners by means of a rough estimate (côte mal taillé). There is a report in Paris of serious hostility in India between English and French. Harcourt has warned Choiseul against putting too much faith in reports from Chevalier, who left English for French service after the peace. Madame Louise, youngest of Mesdames de France, has retired to a Carmelite convent at St. Denis, with a view to taking the veil.
