Folio 197: Weymouth to Châtelet. Referring to Châtelet's complaint about the activities of the employees of the British East India company [see f.131], Britain accepts that the reports of fortifications at Chandernagore are unfounded. Regarding charges against the employees of interference with French commerce, he has already sent instructions to prevent this, to the company and to captain Lyndsay, commanding naval forces in the Indies. Encloses copy of full powers for Monson.
