Folio 189: Captain Hammond to Stephens. His officer had gone aboard the Père de Famille and reported that the crew were Spaniards. Hammond had gone aboard and satisfied himself they were French. There was no interference with the fishing. As ordered by Byron he hadput questions to the crew, which were civilly answered.
