Folio 93: Harcourt to [Weymouth]. The court banker, Mayon de la Balui stopped payment. He later received assurances of support, although many of the greatest banking houses in London and Amsterdam must have been involved in his ruin. His failure is said to be due to the recent severe decrees. Choiseul is outraged and intends to attack the controller general's projects. Reconciliation seems impossible.
