Folio 202: Harcourt to Weymouth. Choiseul assured him that no warlike preparations were taking place at Toulon, only the building of fortifications begun 5 years ago. He offered to allow Harcourt to send someone to see for himself, which Harcourt did not accept. Harcourt reported no military preparations in Spain, no arming at Ferrol. The controller general may resign, if his measures to raise money are opposed. He comments on the financial situation. Two ships bound for China are taking troops to Mauritius. Reference to Heyder Ali.
