Folio 147: Memorial from Walpole to Choiseul. Relates the circumstances of the arrest of the Jupiter off St. Domingo in 1764. It asks whether it was condemned on charges of smuggling or of contravening the ordonnance of 1727, which is contrary to the freedom of navigation enjoyed by all nations. The charges of smugglung were unsubstantiated.
