Folio 118: Weymouth to Walpole. Because of the concern of the Canada committee, he is to ask for an assurance that the edict annulling the order about conversion of reconnaissances for British and French proprietors will not open the way for French laws to be passed affecting British property in the future. The best solution would be for France to pay off the British and terminate the whole matter.
