Folio 211: Harcourt to Weymouth. Choiseul has assured him that no ships at Brest or Rochefort are being fitted out, except one of 50 guns with 500 recruits for St. Domingo. But Harcourt's agent will continue his enquiries at Brest, Rochefort and Toulon. He has pressed for the controller-general's reply about the Canada paper [see ff.135, 161]. The Compagnie de Indes is meeting. It cannot continue as it is but benefits from the British company sending funds back to Europe through the French company.
