Folio 158: Harcourt to Weymouth. He finds Choiseul's professions of peace unconvincing in view of Corsica and of France stirring up trouble in all parts of Europe. He told Choiseul of the possibility of Parliament discussing the compulsory conversion of the Canada paper. The sooner the issue is settled the better as French finances are going from bad to worse. Reports tension between Spain and Denmark and the landing of arms by an English ship at Isola Rossa for the Corsicans. The Compagnie des Indies is in need of funds but has rejected a conditional offer from Laborde.
