Folio 76: Walpole to Shelburne. France wants to recover losses in Corsica before the winter. Details of reinforcements are given. Disturbances in France about shortages have subsided. The new controller-general is diffident and there are as yet no changes. He consults Laborde. There will be a tax next year of two sols per livre on the farmers general. He encloses f.78.
