Folio 75: Rochford to Shelburne. The king is at St. Hubert. He visited Choiseul, who commented on the very strong terms in f.69 about Corsica. The king's moderate reply had been to allay British fears. Rochford had said that facts spoke louder than words. The treaty has been ratified but Choiseul was in too much of a hurry to leave for the country to admit it.
Date and place: 1768 June 9 Paris.
