Description

Folio 27: Porten to Shelburne. Rochford's fever has left him. He is progressing but still very weak. The Corsican expedition is being hastened. Narbonne is already at Toulon to command the first division of 7 or 8 battalions. The court of Vienna acquiesces. Spain agrees. He has no evidence that Paoli has been to Paris but an agent of his has. The comte de Modène from Hamburg is to go as French minister to Sweden. The vizconde de Herreria, Spanish ambassador to Russia, passed on his way to Madrid. He will return to Russia.
