Folio 188: Joncaire Chabert to [? Rybot]. An account of his furnishing the Indians with supplies on the orders of Vaudreuil, how he was told the certificates would be honoured in France, how he went to France and was interrogated in the Bastille and how he and his brother sold them to Rybot. He believes the signatures of Vaudreuil and Bigot are genuine, as they were widely accepted at the time of issue but they might have been signatures of their chief clerks, as is a common practice. He lists officers able to confirm the payments made in Canada.
Date and place: 1767 May 30 Montreal.
