Folio 117: Shelburne to Rochford. The desire of the 10 sailors [on the Marie Joseph] to get home is understandable but Rochford is to give the captain compensation. The treasury and the admiralty have ordered their officers to discover and punish any of the inhabitants guilty of plundering the French ship wrecked on the coast of Wales; the king's officers had from the first taken care to save the goods.
