Folio 48: Rochford to Shelburne. Sartine has permitted the publication of a book entitled Histoire impartiale des Jesuites, which tends to show that all orders of monks deserve the same fate. The Parlement ordered it to be burnt by the common hangman. The Spanish ambassador has been received into the order of the Saint Esprit. The Czarina is said to have had an apoplectic fit, not due to natural causes.
Date and place: 1768 Feb 4 Paris.
