Folio 20: Rochford to Shelburne. Chatelet has a fever and has delayed his journey to England. Since Châtelet was given the Régiment du Roi, Choiseul, as minister for war, has taken the affairs of the regiment out of the hands of its officers. Several have resignedand the lt. Colonel has been retired with a pension. All this has made a bad impression. The second son of the duke of Courland, a major-general in the Russian service, is in the Bastille for presenting false bills of exchange. The queen is better but still very weak.
