Folio 199: Shelburne to Rochford. He wants information about a treaty nearly completed between France and Spain, which would regulate the privileges of consuls. The report comes from Tatem, consul at Messina. He has asked Hamilton for his views on signing a new treaty of commerce with Naples. Reports from Poland suggest that she is completely under Russian domination, but the nobility are resentful. Will Austria and France remain aloof?. Date and place: 1767 Nov 13 Whitehall
