Folio 140: Decree by the Conseil d'Etat about trade in blacks on the African coast. The Compagnie des Indes will no longer receive a per capita bounty from the king but will receive a payment based on the amount of French exports to Africa and the king will pay forthe maintenance of the ports. The other merchants will pay the king a per capita charge.
Date and place: 1767 July 31 Compiègne.
