Folio 87: Porten to Shelburne. He has news of Corsica from a friend. France finds it very costly to keep troops there. By refusing to accept Jesuits from Spain, Genoa has offended Spain and France. When Choiseul withdrew some troops from Corsica, Genoa at last admitted Jesuits into her towns. Consultations about the future of the island continue.
