Folio 73: Porten to Shelburne. Choiseul hopes to withdraw the rest of the French troops from Corsica at the end of the time agreed. Two British ships with the plague were said to have tried to enter Ostend and to have landed some corn in France. Choiseul agreed to allow Whitworth to employ men from Normandy. France has exported wheat to Guernsey and Jersey. The dauphin has come of age, being 14 years old. He was to have supped with the king for the first time at the Petit Château but has a fever. The king is returning and will go to Fontainebleau on September 22nd.
