Folio 307: Shelburne to Rochford. He may return to England as soon as Guerchy leaves and in time to be back in France, when the court is at Compiègne in July and early August. Rumours in the city suggest that the cession of the Spanish part of Hispaniola to France has been accomplished, but both Guerchy and Masserane deny it. Porten is returning to France.
Date and place: 1767 June 5 Whitehall.
