Folio 289: Memorial from the salt and tobacco office. The farmers general complain about the armed vessel from Jersey, which has been landing contraband (faux) salt and tobacco on the coast of Normandy. Gauthier was arrested but escaped. It gives details of him andhis crew and describes the engagement with the revenue cutter.
