Folio 267: Rochford to Shelburne. Encloses f.273. The private friends of the Jesuits are very concerned, including the duc de Vauguyon, governor of Les Enfants de France. The king and family have gone to Marli for three weeks and only the two `family' ambassadors will be received there, but Choiseul comes to Paris. He had expressed concern at the health of the inhabitants of Dunkirk. An increase in funds for the navy has been granted. Encloses ff.269, 271. In postscript reports the Pope's refusal to admit Jesuits from Spain. Spain has asked Genoa to accept them into Corsica.
