Description

Folio 57: Rochford to Shelburne. Cookson has received a letter from his father assuring him of being pardoned and he is returning to England. Bristow will do the same. Monsieur de Stainville, Choiseul's brother, arrested his wife under a lettre de cachet from the king and she is shut up in Lorraine for the rest of her life, because of suspected infidelity. Choiseul and Stainville are strongly criticised.
