Folio 45: Deposition of John Cookson, aged 15, taken before Porten. Cookson deserted his ship, the Aeolus, commander the hon John Leveson-Gower, at Marseille, in company of William Bristow. He managed to reach Paris and his case was put before the British ambassador.
Date and place: 1767 Jan 19 Paris.
