Folio 206: Porten to Shelburne. Papers about the demands of several claimants in the liquidation of the Canada paper have been submitted, with comments by Lescallier, by Guerchy, without the knowledge of Douglas. Some claimants, after taking the oath, have been told that their papers will be sent to London. They fear the office there will be closed and the field will be left clear to Lescallier. Encloses f.210. He has just received f.189. His present authority extends only to attending the oath-taking.
